The module aims to devlop an understanding of, and an ability to discuss, the commerical, economic, technical, and environmental developments in the global automotive industry.
(i) Simple vehicle technology and layout of components.
(ii) Simple legal requirements in vehicle design and operation.
(iii) The process of vehicle development from concept to manufacture.
(iv) Overview of the global motor industry, its prime manufacuturers of both vehicles and major components.
(v) Recent history and future developments.
Lectures, tutorials, labortories and demonstrations. Assessments will consist of background research into the industry, presentation of information researched, and a phase test on the work presented. Peer assessment will also be introduced (2 hours per week)

Use peer assessment to focus on good and bad aspects of resarch and presentation.
|4.||Have understood laboratory demonstrations and experiments of a technical nature.
Demonstrate an understanding of technical aspects of vehicles.
