20 credits at level HE4
This module will allow students to clearly identify the requirements for setting up a business’ documentation, plus pitch an idea or concept to a representative audience using the correct terminology and within an allotted time scale.
The students should be able to:
•Develop a set of ideas or concepts & implement a set of team job specifications, and policies and procedures relating to: quality, standards, discipline and grievance
•Produce a project plan with full revision history
•Produce a project file incorporating the following: terms of reference (signed off by supervisor), copies of all team internal and external documentation, inc. minutes of meetings, job roles, memoranda, letters, disciplinary hearings, matters of grievance,and present in a clear, concise presentation.
•Produce an individual (confidential between individual student and project supervisor) short, written appraisal of the contribution made to the project by all team members
•Produce a project report which critically assesses the end product(s) as measured against the requirements.
Show an awareness of market considerations and identify budgetary and production requirements.
•Reflect on skills developed and update PDP.

The students will be expected to spend appropriate hours working on the project, plus the time required to attend the team review.
Each team will be allocated a supervisor who will be time tabled to provide appropriate supervision.
The team will decide how this time is to be spent, in consultation with the team supervisor, and arrange times and places which are mutually convenient with the supervisor.
A project review will be conducted by the supervisor to assess team progress and the ability of the students to manage the project.
The supervisor will be available to offer advice to the team but the emphasis of the module is on team management, rather than on supervisory resolution of problems.
The ability of the students to develop appropriate documentation relating to: team roles, quality, standards, discipline, and grievance will be assessed against point 1 during the project review.
2.Project planning and control:
The ability of the students to manage the project will be assessed against point 2 during the project review and at the end of the project.
The success of the students in developing the product will be assessed against point 4 by a short demonstration and from the documentation accompanying the project report.
The ability of the student to present the results of the work in a well structured logical fashion will be assessed against point 5 from the content, structure and style of the written project report.
The team members will peer assess the contribution made by each other based on the evidence supplied against point 3
The team will present their idea or concept in a relevant manner to a panel of peers
Individuals will reflect on their on contribution and skills gained and update their PDP
Lectures will be used for the formal dissemination of underpinning knowledge regarding project development
Seminars and tutorials will be used to allow students to participate in practical work and collaborative discussion
