The aim of this module is to develop the student's ability to create architectural and detail drawings using commercialy available CAD systems. An understanding of and familiarity with architectural conventions and drawings will also be developed.
Introduction to 2D CAD and editing features.
Production of component design and working drawings
Creating and saving drawings.
Selection and use of relevant industry/ trade information.
Plotting and presentation.
Learning sessions will consist of lectures and practical sessions with tutorial support as appropriate.

Assess the suitability of software and hardware for a variety of uses.
|2.||Know how to create, save and plot 2D drawings and how to import and plot data from various sources.||Use CAD software and ancillary equipment to produce building and detail designs and evaluate and select suitable information for inclusion in portfolio of work|
|3.||Use CAD to reproduce manually prepared drawings and measured survey drawings||Display a high degree of accuracy in the reproduced drawings|
|4.||Understand architectural drawings.||Interpret data from drawings.|
|5.||Understand the need for good communication and IT skills.
||Produces clear and concise drawings using a variety of software and hardware.|
