Acquiring skills and knowledge which reinforce the understanding of pathway subject at degree level in relation to the world of work.
Exploring potential vocational opportunities and considering ways in which to capitalise on learning achievements in the employment market.
Participating in a work placement (of at least 10 days or equivalent).
Evaluating work experience and the acquisition of skills and knowledge during the placement.
The learning that is to be undertaken will be individually negotiated. Nonetheless, each individual learning contract will normally include:
Securing a suitable work placement
Negotiating a learning contract with an academic tutor, agreeing learning outcomes, details of work placement, times of tutorial sessions and assessment details and due dates.
Participating in a work placement (at least 10 days or equivalent)
Preparing a report and presentation.
Individual learning contracts negotiated between student and tutor =5hrs
Tutorial supervision = 5hrs
Feedback sessions = 5hrs
Work placement = 80hrs min.
Preparation of report = 20 hrs
Presentation Preparation and Delivery = 5hrs
Research, reflection and general preparation =80 hrs
Assessment is via:
1. Report (3000 words)
2. Appraisal (by academic tutor based on report by workplace supervisor)
3. Presentation (10 mins)

|4.||Demonstrate appropriate competencies and skills required for the successful completion of work-related tasks and activities||Receive confirmation of successful completion of tasks via satisfactory report from workplace supervisor|
|5.||Evaluate experience, especially the relevance of their skills and knowledge to the requirements of the placement and identify points of personal development||Articulate a reflective understanding of both the demands of the placement and personal skills development in the presentation and report|
|6.||Delivered a presentation on a topic specific to the work placement||Deliver a well-structured and articulate presentation, in addition to appropriate and effective use of AV aids and clarity and audibility of materials|
