The purpose of this module is to help students develop enterprise and employability skills and to engage students in personal development planning. The module, therefore, implements University recommendations with regard to the New Learning Environment at Level 2 and encourages students to focus on the job application process and career management at an appropriate point in their course.
ENTERPRISE SKILLS: Considerations when setting up a business; developing and refining a business idea; ownership of a business idea; market research; options for raising and managing finances; writing a business plan.
EMPLOYABILITY: Investigation of realistic career opportunities at graduation; identification of skills sets pertaining to the professional sector generally and more specifically to job roles relating to a student’s programme of study; development of CV and presentational portfolio of work.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANNING: Reflection on course, on achievements, and on personal and academic strengths; consideration and identification of objectives in relation to remainder of course (particularly final year specialisms) and target skills sets.
This 10 credit module complements Project Skills (also 10 credits) at Level 2 and will be delivered via a range of teaching methods and learning situations, with emphasis on research, discussion, groupwork, tutorials and practice. The delivery mode is 100% continuous assessment, to include:
• portfolio report 50%
• presentation 50%

|3.||have reflected on past achievements and identified personal and professional aims and objectives for remainder of course and transition to employment||develop a personal action plan using appropriate ICT|
