This is a taught module as follows:-

Total = 200 hours
The module is assessed through two assignments. The first is a case study involving a performance management issue for which a management report is produced and the second is an essay of 2000-2500 words, addressing the role of the manager and leader in the workplace, particularly relating to leadership styles.

|4.||Understand the organisation's ethical and values-based approach to leadership||Discuss and evaluate how the organisational specific, legal, regulatory and ethical requirements impact on leadership|
|5.||Be able to understand leadership styles and to secure team involvement and objectives through leadership||Explain and evaluate the contingency approach to leadership|
|6.||Understand the links and differences between management and leadership||Describe, analyse and evaluate the roles of manager and leader|
|7.||Understand leadership principles that support organisational values||Evaluate how the leader's role and personal factors impact on the organisation|
|8.||Be able to understand and apply leadership strategies to organisational objectives.||Evaluate how transactional, transformational and situational leaders approaches contribute to organisational objectives|
