John Parkin teaches transport engineering and planning. He has research interests in:

·      the assessment and modelling of perceptions of risk and effort as they influence mode and route choice;

·      the development and implementation of prospective study methodologies for enhanced assessment of transport interventions;

·      the longitudinal analysis of transport data sets for monitoring purposes; and

·      the experimental analysis of factors which affect infrastructure design.
